BI-374 - Empowering Mental Health Activities & Raising Awareness about Mental Health with AMOMA
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY EVENT
My BI-374 project was to incorporate mental health awareness info cards in the AMOMA event. I am the president of AMOMA. October 10th, 2023 was Mental Health Day so Alverno Minds Over Matter Association (AMOMA) decided to host an event to provide space for students to take a a little breather. We had knitting, flask painting, and planting activities. Meg also joined us to connect with the students and provided them with mental health awareness info cards and knitted goods.
I printed some cards like these below:
These are some of the reminders to maintain a good mentality throughout the day so I printed these and circulated them around during the events and guided them to place them on their mirror for everyday reminders.
Here are some pictures from the day of the event:
This is amazing. You did an amazing job highlighting the importance mental health has on students every day life and shared amazing suggestion with readers on how to improve their health and enjoy a better quality of life.
ReplyDeleteThank you sharing this. It was well thought out and put together. This can very much help someone who struggles with mental health
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very important concept to talk about, especially during college. I think you did a great job with this project. I loved how you included information of someone who we should go talk to for more advice on how to deal with mental health.
ReplyDeleteI believe this is often a taboo subject and while many review the topic of mental health I believe it is important to ensure steps are taken to provide resources and opportunities to cope/express what they are struggling with. I think you did an amazing job with this project and it will help many to have those resources on hand.
ReplyDeleteMental Health has gained more attention these past years, especially after the pandemic. It's interesting reading how AMOMA came to fruition & I love the mental health awareness info cards provided in the blog - precisely the 8 mindful tips to help you cope with seasonal depression. The designs & colors you use are calming yet positive and energetic.
ReplyDeleteIts inspiring how you are bringing more attention to mental health. I also appreciate the strategy you are using by placing the reminders near mirrors to further encourage those who attended to have a positive mindset.
